ABOUT
The local business operating system
Most local businesses run on a patchwork stack. A website built years ago, an Instagram nobody updates, a Google Business Profile someone else set up, six logins for six tools, and zero clarity on which lead came from where. Growth Local Co. replaces that stack with one platform the owner actually owns. Site, dashboard, lead inbox, review queue, content engine, and modular growth tools wired together.
What we build
Custom websites on Astro plus Tailwind plus Cloudflare, fast on mobile, owned by the customer. Admin dashboards designed for non-technical operators · the front-desk team can edit hours, post to Instagram, reply to reviews, and follow up on leads from one screen. Modular growth tools · Booking, Loyalty, Gift Cards, Referral, SMS Broadcast, Email Engine, Multi-location, Reputation, Online Ordering, Reservations · turn on as the business needs them. We do not build what we will not operate, and we do not operate what the owner cannot run when we step back.
What we will not do
We will not lock you into proprietary software. We will not sell you modules you do not need. We will not run paid ads on a broken site (we fix the site first, then talk about ads). We will not hand you a white-labeled GoHighLevel and call it a custom platform. We will not publish "starting at" pricing that turns into a different number on the contract. We will not work with operators who want a marketing miracle with zero involvement, because the partnership assumes a weekly check-in and an owner who cares.
Who we build for
US local businesses with 1 to 50 locations and roughly $300K to $5M in annual revenue. Restaurants, salons and barbers, medspas, contractors, home services, fitness studios, auto services, local retail. Tri-state (NJ, NY, PA) for in-person work and audits. National for the platform itself. The owner is buyer plus champion plus user · we never sell to procurement teams, and we never assume a CMO is in the room.
How the engagement works
We start with the free Growth Local Audit · a 6-metric scorecard delivered as a PDF within 48 hours. Mobile site speed, local SEO, review velocity, lead capture, social rhythm, and mobile UX. The audit is yours regardless of whether you hire us. If the scorecard surfaces real fixable gaps, we scope a build (Foundation, Growth, Scale, or Custom) and ship in 4 to 12 weeks depending on scope. We operate alongside the team after launch, with weekly check-ins and monthly retainer options for content, SEO, and module operation.
Where we are
Fair Lawn, NJ. Most of our work happens within an hour of the office. We visit Tri-state operators in person, audit their sites at the kitchen table, and do kickoff and post-launch reviews face to face when the relationship calls for it. The platform itself works anywhere in the US.
Frequently asked questions
What does Growth Local Co. actually do?
We build custom websites and admin dashboards for US local businesses, then operate them with the owner. The site, the code, the domain, the data are all owned by the customer. We add modular growth tools (Booking, Loyalty, Reviews, SMS, Email, Multi-location, etc.) on top as the business needs them. We are not a website builder, not a SaaS-only platform, and not a generic marketing agency.
Who is the platform for?
Operating local businesses with 1-50 locations and roughly $300K to $5M in annual revenue. Restaurants, salons, barbers, medspas, contractors, home services, fitness studios, auto services, local retail. Tri-state (NJ / NY / PA) for in-person service; US national for the platform itself.
Who is it not for?
Pre-revenue businesses (a Squarespace template is the right answer until you have something to systematize). Operators below ~$200K revenue (the patchwork stack isn't expensive enough to replace yet). E-commerce-only operations (Shopify is better). Multi-state franchises with corporate marketing teams (we are not at that scale yet). Owners who want a marketing miracle with zero involvement (this is a partnership, not a black box).
How do you compare to GoHighLevel or Vendasta?
GoHighLevel and Vendasta are platforms designed for agencies to white-label and resell to end customers. The owner-facing UX is dense, training takes weeks, and the pricing models reflect agency reseller economics. We build directly for the owner. The dashboard passes the 'can a 55-year-old salon owner run this on a Sunday morning' test, and we never resell ourselves through other agencies.
How do you compare to Squarespace, Wix, or WordPress?
Those are website builders. They are fine for pre-revenue businesses or operators with minimal needs. They become the wrong shelf at the point where you have a real lead inbox to manage, a review queue to keep up with, multiple locations, or a content calendar that needs to live somewhere. We build the platform layer that those tools never include.
Where are you based?
Fair Lawn, NJ. We focus on Tri-state operators (NJ, NY, PA) for in-person work and audits. The platform itself works anywhere in the US.
What is the free Growth Local Audit?
A 6-metric scorecard delivered as a PDF within 48 hours of submission. We measure site speed, mobile UX, local SEO, review velocity, lead capture, and social rhythm against vertical and Tri-state benchmarks. The audit is yours to keep regardless of whether you hire us.
What does it cost?
Pricing is scoped per project. We do not anchor a 'starting at' number publicly because the audit defines the real scope. The free Growth Local Audit comes first, and we quote real numbers off your actual scorecard, not a template price.
Do I own the site after launch?
Yes. The site, the code, the domain, the data. Open standards (Astro, Tailwind, Cloudflare). If you ever leave, you walk with everything. The dashboard SaaS layer pauses on cancellation; the website itself is yours forever.
